Walnut Grove a new addition in the culinary scene of Dubai and fortunately I got a chance to cover it recently. It has two branches but I was there at the Dubai Mall last week for a lovely lunch.
Apart from its warm interiors and spacious sitting I was happy to see the outdoor terrace with a stellar view of Burj Khalifa. Conveniently located at the first floor of Dubai Mall near Waterfall you can easily spot amidst of huge and intricate(for me sometimes) Dubai Mall.
The manager sheena was there to assist us. Polite and warm personality made us at ease instantly and at first we preferred to sit indoor and later decided to savor desserts and coffee at the open terrace.
The menu is exciting and would compel you to try lots of things out of it. We took for like 10 mins to decide and placed an order in this way
- Cosanostra Chicken Salad
- Halloumi Fries
- Parmesan Almond Chicken Strips
- Walnut, Truffle and Chicken Carbonara
- Salsa Verde Chicken Kebab
- Sliders Selection
- Cake Slices
- Latte
We started our culinary experience with Starters like Hallouni Fries and Parmesan Almond Chicken Strips. Let me tell you one thing the presentation of each dish was on point and not less than a visual treat. Halloumi fries seems like french fries but taste like fish fillet and it was finished like a hot selling cake from our table where as chicken strips were good but nothing much special in taste.
Our healthy choice of salad Cosanostra which was suggested by our server was another hit on our table. Thankfully we opted for this option and totally loved each bite of it. Fresh salad was a mix of feta, mozerella cheese, avocados, olives, grilled veggies and tomatoes in short everything nutritious and taste was equally good.
If you are a fan of truffle and white sauce pasta then this walnut, truffle carbonara pasta is definitely you must try. Creamy white sauce pasta loaded gold of food truffle infused beautifully in each bite will leave you satisfied.
Salsa Verde Chicken Kebab, well marinated in in-house spices chicken pieces served in skewers with veggies and sauce. They were soft and mild spice chicken pieces will definitely tantalized your taste buds.
We opted for sliders selection rather ordered just one. In a slider platter we got to try 2 different variety chicken and meat. I won’t say they were the best I have tried anywhere but good option for filling or slider lovers.
Now, lets talk about dessert. Sweettooth or not you have to try desserts here from huge variety they have at their display. From cakes to customized cupcakes they have something for everyone. What we tried there? A huge slice of rainbow cake, coffee cake and caramel & oreo cake. All were good but for me rainbow cake was the winner :). Colorful and neat each layer topped with mild sweet cream won my heart instantly and I savored each bites with a sip of hot latte while absorbing the classic view of Burj khalifa on the outdoor terrace of Walnut Grove.
My friend opted for blooming green tea and washed down everything with this refreshing tea.
The staff is friendly and service is prompt. I can’t wait to go again and try breakfast menu here. This place is highly recommended for those who are looking for good food with stellar view.
