Few days back I discovered this new place for the love of my mazbi. This place Makarem is situated at Hessa Road , Al Barsha. At first it seems like a takeaway place just by entering in the restaurant but got to know they have a pretty good sitting place upstairs.

My husband and I went up and made ourselves comfortable on one of the table. They have majlis setup as well where you can sit down and have the food in traditional style.

Expect the menu revolves around Arabic Rice Variety like mandi and mazbi etc. We ordered three variety from the restaurants menu

  • Kunafa

Rain was our server, we asked for the starters but unfortunately they didn’t have them at that time so we preferred to start our experience directly with the main food. Rain our server told us that instead of mandi rice all the dishes are available in makarem rice right now. The difference of this version was the spices, the rice in which they cook. We trust our server and without saying a word proceed with the order

The order came on time with fresh salads, cucumber raita (yogurt), arabic salad and tomato sauce that compliments the mandi like anything.

Haneeth dish was new to me but let me tell you the meat was so soOoo soft that it could break with lips. It was well cooked without any raw smell (which I usually feel in meat dishes here). The makarem rice with haneeth was a perfect blend of rice and meat.  Haneeth meat is cooked in a tandoor oven with a blend of in house special spice blend. Its a must try!/-

Price–AED 74/-

Madfoon half the second dish, they cook it in oven with potatoes and onion in a special blend of spices. Again the chicken was tender and went so well with the makarem rice.

Price– AED 30/-

Lastly! we tried mazbi and seriously I can’t complain. It was simple yet delicious. The serving size is fairly good enough for a hungry soul

Price–AED 30/-

We ended our dinner with cream kunafa and special tea.

Price–AED 15/-

Staff is courteous and the place is super clean with a cute little restroom. I could observe that the place was buzzing with delivery orders more rather dine in experience.

Do check them out! You would love the taste and quality of food here and that too easy on pocket.
