JLT area has got many options of eatery from international to desi cuisine in short it has got something for every tastebuds. Having said that finding a good option can be a struggle but I am lucky to get try some of the restaurants that you won’t regret to try or order from. Jharokha is one of the restaurant in JLT where you can treat your palates with delectable taste.
Its a small place with equally spaced tables with the entertainment of LCD, so that you don’t get bored while waiting for your food. We were greeted by the manager there and he politely asked us to order from the wide range of menu. It took us good 7 mins to browse all the menu and make up our mind what to order and what not.
From the Jharokha’s menu thats what we ordere
- Mix non-veg platter
- Hot n Sour Soup
- Dal Tadka
- Mutton Biryani
- Chicken Hakka Noodles
- Sweet and Sour Chicken
- Kulfi
- Tea
We started our dinner with crispy papads which is a staple pre starter in every indian restaurant. Instead of ordering starters we jumped into the main course by relishing non veg platter. Each variety from fish to chicken and kabab everything was well marinated and cooked to perfection.
My husband like soup, so he went for hot n sour and seriously I couldn’t help but to share his bowl of soup. Rich flavors and hot serving was definitely comforting to our taste buds.
Being desi who doesn’t like indo chinese? Well am not an exception. Hakka noodles was hit on our table, we didn’t take much time to finish it. Sweet and sour chicken was another favorite from the night. Balanced sweet and sour taste which we opted to enjoy with chicken fried rice and not to mention chicken fried rice was something I could eat alone without any gravy 😉
Mutton Biryani was aromatic but the taste was average. It couldn’t impress us that much the way other dishes did.
Veg or non veg you must try Daal Tardka here, thick yellow gravy with tadka of laal mirch will tempt you to have it with white rice or have it with spoon
In sweets we tried pistachio and mango kulfi. They have kulfilicious stock which is already famous for its variety of kulfies. Good thing is that the kulfi in Jharokha was light and didnt put us in sugar rush.
We ended our yummy dinner on strong cup of masala tea and left the place with a big smile. Do check out this place jharokha for desi food fix and indo chinese dishes. Jharokha is definitely worth mentioning place in the category of indian restauratents in JLT
