The desi circle is my new find in the category affordable options of eatery in Dubai. Are you desi? your palates are fond of street food and you are wandering around Karama area then head on to The Desi Circle a bijou place but with delectable food options.
Location is bit tricky and its not tagged properly on google map but you can contact them before going there. Place offers you a family area where you can properly sit but if you are in hurry you can grab a bite from the outdoor counter. This place is a dream venture of two friends Mr. Divesh and Mr. Abhishek who is also chef here, both are from different background and living the dream in terms of this cafe. The name desi circle signifies that most of our desi items like roti, puri, batura are in circular shape, so thats why they came up with this interesting name.
Menu here is quite interesting and you can lots of variety from veg to non veg. From breakfast to lunch and dinner they have something for everyone. My friend and I started our session by ordering drink first. Since summers are here I opted for Lassi and my friend ordered Karak Tea.
Lassi was refreshing and thick but not difficult to drink and moderate sweet, the way I like. My friend seemed fine with Karak Tea so no complains with our drinks 😉
What else I tried there?
- Ghee Roast Masala Dosa
- Chole Bhature
- Aloo Paratha
- Bombay Sandwich
- Club Sandwich
I have tried masala dosa but on my friend suggestion ordered ghee roast and instantly fell in love with it. The dosa was crispy and the flavor of ghee made us ravenous that we didn’t even leave a morsel on the plate. Three dips were came along with this amazing dosa and I loved the yellow one which was taste like daal but if you are not a ghee person don’t worry they have ample variety of dosa in the menu.
Chole Bhatura was served hot to us and I deflate the perfectly fried bhatura by poking in my finger, yummy? exactly you need to try this here. I relish this with the flavorful chickpeas gravy, I could have finished all of it, if I hadn’t had to taste other items.
Aloo Paratha is something that I ordered with excitement that explains my love for it. It was well cooked and filled with good amount of filling but sadly the taste was not upto my expectation moreover the filling could have been more spicy and there was a lack of salt too.
Bombay sandwich was something I tried for the first time and just by taking its first bite, I completely understood its reason of being famous as a street food. I am a non veg person but totally enjoyed every bite of it.
On the suggestion of Mr. Divesh I tried club sandwhich although I was completely full by this time. It was three layers sandwich filled with three different chicken. First was shredded chicken layer, second was chicken salami and third was chicken patty with boiled eggs and luscious mayo. It was filling and good for one ravenous person.
All in all I enjoyed my visit to this cafe, taste and variety of food made me happy and soon I will visit again for the desi breakfast. Do check them out!!
