A modern take on Arabic Street food- Operation Falafel (Box Park)

After coming here in Dubai two and a half years back, my palates were not use to of hummus and falafel taste but now with the passage of time the flavors grown on me and now there is no way back. If you are looking for authentic simple food without any frills then Operation Falafel is the place to be.

They have 10 outlets and I went to review box park one. Not so fancy place decked with wooden interiors are the theme of all the outlets but the food here is not less than a treat.

• Zaatar Manaeesh

For me hummus is a barometer of taste in any Arabic restaurant and am glad to tell it was exactly the way it should be creamy and thick.

In salad we tried Chicken Salad, fresh veggies with mild flavored chicken pieces was so fresh and light on stomach topped with pomegranate seeds

You must have tried falafel but they notch up the falafel game by stuffing it. The classic version was filled with onions, pine nuts and shatta serve it with sauce.

In soup we ordered lentil soup and sip it with crispy fried breads.

How it is possible not to try shawarma in Arabic restaurant so instead of wrap we went for Saj Platter, that came with small slices of shawarma, fries, pickle, olives and garlic sauce. Filling yet flavorful!

If you are looking for something light, you can try the operation falafel special chicken shawarma loaded with goodness of chicken pieces, garlic sauce, fries and fresh lettuce in a soft signature bread.

Our server suggest us to try Zaatar Manaeesh and we didn’t regret at all 🙂

Would I recommend this place? Yes! definitely and no wonder am going again for Saj Platter and hummus. You can relish some good food without burning your pocket here. Happy Eating!
