Mirdrif is gearing up with new proliferating eateries and they are not just the casual ones but Instagram worthy. Status kitchen is one of them located near Abaya Mall in Mirdrif.
The concept is more for takeaways and deliveries, since the place is very small and can accommodate only two or three persons maximum at one time, so ordering is the best option. I was there with my friend to treat our palates at lunch time. While ordering we got to know by the server that the dessert maker was not there and comes usually at 4, so we couldn’t order what we wanted to try except black pancakes.
The place is small but one wall was decorated with funky frames and quotes. The hanging lamps were adding the interesting dimension and am sure in the evening lit lamps would have given a fancy touch.
We started our tasting with french fries loaded with jalapenos, fried onions and lots of cheese. Man they were bomb! My friend and I couldn’t stop ourselves and enjoyed it till the last moreish.
Sliders came in three colors. Not just treat to the eyes but palates too. Red, yellow and black in chicken, meat and shrimps flavors. All were delectable and we didn’t seem any reason not to like them.
While enjoying our food our server served us our drinks. My friend ordered pinacolada and I thought to quench my thirst with Berries lemonade. My friend seemed so satisfied with her drink where as I was sipping mine through out the session.
At last we got to try Black Pancakes topped with grounded nuts. Amazing in every bite again we carried away and without thinking about the calories we swept the whole plate without thinking a bit about calories. Sweetness was moderate exactly the way I like to eat. I wish the main person who makes all the desserts were there so that we could try milk cake and nutella french toast too.
Would I recommend? Yes! definitely, go and check out this new place for some mouthwatering yet treat to eyes items but I wish the staff was able to let us try different desserts for reviewing / comparison and didn’t leave our trip incomplete.
