From buzzing brunches to romantic restaurants, cosy cafés to lavish lunch spots, Dubai is a food-lovers paradise where every imaginable meal wish and craving can be satisfied 24/7.  Who doesn’t love the concept of British Hit-Tea, dainty bites, gallons of tea with a group of fellows. Later this week I got to experience a pretty spot in one of my favorite place in Dubai, Palace Downtown to indulge in scones, sandwiches and social tea that is Al Bayt (meaning house).

Al Bayt is in the lobby of Arabian-style The Palace Downtown. It’s a calming setting – a petal-filled fountain ripples in the background and a stunning flower arrangement stands in the center of the room. Service is relaxed, some might want things to happen a little quicker, but for us afternoon tea is all about taking your time.

In a truly palatial Arabian atmosphere with panoramic views of Burj Lake and The Dubai Fountain, indulge in a selection of delectable pastries, sandwiches, premium beverages, juices and exclusive teas and coffees.

Service was relaxed and I believe that was needed in order to absorb well opulent surrounding and delectable treats. The main table was looking like an art pieces because of its artistic decoration. Kudos to the restaurant’s team as you would like to eat first with your eyes then you take use of your mouth.

Traditional and Arabic options are available to tantalized your taste buds. You will see selection of the sandwiches, koftas, flavored scones with nuts or plain, small assorted cakes and some Arabic traditional items. No doubt its a classy affair but without being ostentatious.

In drinks we tried ice tea that came in a pretty glass jar, I so wanted to take along with me (hehehe) back home. There are many choices that can be choosen from the drinks menu. We also got to try Palace Cappuccino that was served with gold flakes on the top. How fancy does it sound? so Imagine how baroque would have looked in real.

We stayed there for like more than 2 hours, relaxed atmosphere wanting us to stayed there more and continue chatting and treating ourselves with assorted delish delicacies. The outdoor sitting area has a pretty view of pool and iconic Burj Khalifa. Cool weather would be an ideal time to sit there, sipping a hot coffee with such view to notch up the experience.

This whole property is itself beautiful that you will love to come back again for sure. I am so looking forward to visit this place again and try out other restaurants. Thank you Palace DownTown team for all this.
