With proliferating rate of new eateries in the UAE food scene,fortunately we all are blessed to have many options. Every new kid in the block seems to push the bar a notch up in order to attract the consumers because with so many options its no more an easy job to make your name in the market with ordinary food and presentation.
Recently I went to this new place located conveniently in the property of meraas citywalk called State88. This place boost rustic interiors and a cafe style sitting arrangement which totally impressed me as I have a thing for earthy tones. Contemporary style and rustic interiors this place will definitely catch your attention and you will take a good one minute to have a look around.
The concept is simple yet catchy. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t loves to have a bite of sandwich specially if its in a soft buns, right? ;). From sandwiches to wraps and salads to milkshakes despite being a limited menu, this place is a good options for a laid-back meetups and something on a go. They are in their soft opening phase and will be running officially from October.

Their food is baked, grilled or slow cooked which makes the taste stand out from the rest. Coming back to the order Brisket 88 smoked meat with dried tomato aioli and roasted peppers is my favorite one from here. Chicken 88 again a smoked version with healthy options of avocado and tomatoes this was liked by my husband. Liberal was a combo of pulled chicken with caramelized onions, lettuce and pickle but the addition of smoked aioli took the taste a notch up. Tender me is a party option for meat lovers.
Chic Frik is a perfect option for calories conscious people, its healthy yet filling.
Fries 88 will remind you the best ones in the town, the logma fries and I bet you can’t eat just one, I so wanted to have second helping but rather I tried baked sweet potato which couldn’t impress me much.
All the diet conscious beware as you are going to be tempted with some compelling shakes :). They have some delectable shakes variety and my husband choose to try wafarer milkshake, where as I went with fresh pineapple juice. The shakes are freakin’ toothsome and loaded with all the goodness of taste that will make you crave for more and I couldn’t resist but ended up sharing his shake and shamelessly took the lion’s share.
The only complain I have with the food here is the serving size of a sandwich. I believe single sandwich wouldn’t satisfy a hungry person and he might want to have atleast 2 or 3 to fully fuelled himself.
I didn’t try the coffee but am sure will do on my next visit here. Do check out this place for your sandwich fix and some insane shakes.
