Yes!!! am a non veg foodie and whenever I get an invite from a vegetarian restaurant, its always not easy to accept the invite. But I have been hearing positive reviews about this place lately and accepting the invite was an obvious choice. Quattro a next level restaurant fusing two of the famous cuisines, Mexican and Indian but they are not only catering vegetarian souls but knows exactly how to make non-veg satisfied too without urging the flavor of meat.
This place is easily located on the main road in mankhool area right next to the spice klub. Upon entering in the waiting area we were ushered into the main dining area, which was already bustling with chats, laugh and food. Big dense green tea in the middle gives you a feel of a covered garden with hanging lights and long table,as if you are invited to some backyard kindred party.
After settling down on table we were served assorted dips and our drinks. Dips instantly made me to crave for some fresh bread to munch on with such colorful variety, while waiting for the food but unfortunately nothing arrived along with the dips to accompany.
We got to try their two drinks, first one Mojito was no less than a magical show,it was served with dry ice and candy floss. The moment soda was poured on a pile of candy floss,it melts away in the concoctions and dry ice turns into enchanted vapors, indeed a treat visual which ended up on refreshing taste where as our other drink was guava smoothie which I would rate as a good effort.
Our first culinary fare was Tostadas, mexican crispy tortillas served with an appetizing mixture of beans, tomatoes, olives with an indian twist of onions and cucumber served with guacamole and sour cream. The whole platter was finished in no time from our table.
Filo Parcels a mini treat to your palates filled with crispy corn and olives filling and taste divine, no wonder am going back for these mini bites uniquely presented in parcel shape and served on a flaming dish.
Another appetizer that was served to us was Bruschetta, I was surprised to see this Italian classic dish in the menu but after searching on internet, got to know even mexican has their own take on this Italian fare and the only difference I could find was use of parsley in mexican version. Toasted baguette slices topped with fresh buffalo cheese, cherry tomatoes ,balsamic pearls topped with parsley foam.
The last one in appetizers was Risotto Palle, signature cream risotto and cheese balls coated heavenly with crumbs and fired to perfection. One of the must try other than tostadas
In mains we got to try Quesadillas, Margarita pizza and risotto
Quesadilla was a filling fare of flour tortillas filled with inhouse cheese, nicely seasoned rice, guacamole, beans, sour cream, vegetables and more. I was unable to finish it completely.
Margaritta Pizza is one of their signature pizza and its layered upside down like first a layer of cheese and then dollop of tomato sauce, contrary to the routine style of layering. I relished this thin base crispy pizza with pesto dip served initially on our table.
The last but not the least main dish was Risotto Fungi ,creamy and rich risotto with mushrooms, parmesan and oregano, drizzled with truffle oil unfortunately could impress the way I was expecting, I felt it little dry and thick or maybe it was better to have it when it was just served, hot and soft in texture.
We ended our session on a sweet note of a platter which was a melody of Hazelnut Mousse and Chocolate icecream served along with caramelized corns and chocolate decorations. Simply outstanding!!!
The service is average here and seemed puzzled while serving and I hope next time I would see improvement in it.
This place really astound me with the fusion of flavors, presentation and above all mexican food with indian twist, nothing felt out of syn in taste which is a commendable effort by the team. I would definitely recommend this place and I bet even being a non veg, this place won’t disappoint you a bit. Go and amaze your senses that a fusion of totally different cuisine that too without meat can be that much appetizing and a visual treat at the same time.
