Italian food always fascinates me because I am a big fan of eating pizza,pasta and cheese. When I got an invite to try out their pizza night it was no less than a treat and that too Michelin starred chef ‘s restaurant.
Taste of Italy by Heinz Beck is the celebrated chef’s first casual restaurant concept, offering diners the chance to indulge in gourmet cuisine infused with his signature, Michelin-rated twist on Italian style home cooking.
Upon entrance you get a feel of neat and crisp superstore cum cafe,interiors are warm,rustic and laid back style. The whole place is parted neatly with racks filled with Italian products. Different live counters are there like bread,pasta,cheese and icecream counter. After settling down on the table we met the chef Fedirico with a big smile and let the evening begin with his choice of menu.
He made 2 special fresh pizzas namely Quattro Formaggi and Bresaola E Mozerella for us in his open kitchen located at the corner of the restaurant.
Quattro Formaggi it was four cheese thin based pizza,cheesy yet light in taste. I got to know very interesting thing from chef that Italians dont like to use chicken in their pizza its an american version which we usually get to eat. Even the garlic bread is not Italian but an american version of bread.
Bresaola E Mozerella pizza was topped with beef bresaola filled with goat mozerella,an interesting presentation with a delightful taste.
After that we got to try 2 different pasta as well Tortellini Di Melanzane and Linguine Al Pesto
Tortellini Di Melanzane was a fresh tortelli pasta stuffed with aubergine,served with tomato salsa and basil oil. It was my first time trying it and instantly love it
Linguine Al Pesto with basil pesto,green beans and potatoes. The pasta was not totally soft it was al dent in texture but the taste was something you would relish totally.
In desserts we tried coconut,caramel and pistachio gelato but my favorite among the three was coconut one.
The other dessert that tantalized our taste buds was deconstructed Tiramisu. It was airy and had right flavor of coffee,a must try over here
Lastly we wrapped our session with a cup of hot Latte that came in a glass, am definitely goin back to try other dishes from menu. Till then Ciao!!!
