Kamoon- Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana

I went to this beautiful property of  Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana with some of my bloggers friend.The name of this place is Kamoon means cumin. By name you can understand its an Arabic restaurant boast beautiful space inside out. We preferred to sit outside by their private beach as UAE is blessed  to have pleasant weather these days out of routine.

Cool breeze and serene place was putting a trance of calmness on us. We started with the cold mezze, soup ,falafel and cheese sticks. Falafel was not the ordinary falafel, they had cheese filling and quite mouthwatering in taste where as the cheese sticks were crispy small rolls, again filled with cheese.The mushroom soup was an instant love on our table,can’t rave more, I could easily fill myself with just that soup if I hadn’t had to try other items.

In cold mezze we got

• fattoush
• rocket salad
• hummus
• mutabal
• Kamoon salad avocado
• Rayhaan tabouleh
• muhammara

I really enjoyed fatoosh, mutabal, hummus with bread although the bread due to cold weather, wasn’t that warm. For drink I chose to have mint fresco and my friends had passion fruit drink and cumin drink which was satisfying and had right kick of cumin taste and its one of their special drinks.

For main course we got to try chefs recommended dishes like

• veg biryani
• kabab halabi
• kabab rayhaan
• kabab kamaralzaman
• shauf

Being a hard core non-veg,its always a delight to try meat dishes so after taking good pictures of our food we all dig in and relished each and every dish. My favorites were veg biryani and rayhaan cheese meat. It was so succulent and filled with cheese and some veggies. Capsicum taste was dominant but you wont mind having it with cheese and other veggies. There was that halabi kabab which failed  to impress,for my liking it had raw smell. The lamb pieces shauf was bit dry but good in taste.

In dessert we had fresh fruit cuts and hallaout al jibn.I was so full by then that I could only manage to eat a bit from Arabic dessert which had decent rose water taste. At the end we ordered coffee as we all wanted to bask in the cool breeze,beach and romantic dim light setup for some more time. After much gobbling we made ourself ready to make our way to Dubai from Abu Dhabi. It was a lovely night with good food and company of friends. I definitely would like to go back specially for staycation in this beautiful property. Thank you Khalidiya  Palace Rayhaan by Rotana for having us.
