Rajdhani is a heavenly place for Vegetarian’s soul.An Indian restaurant true to its root offers “Thali” pure appeasement of Rajisthani and Gujrati taste here in Dubai.The concept of thali always fascinates me,its like getting to taste lots of variety without overburden your stomach with one dish.
This restaurant is located in Karama and luckily we got parking right outside the place.Decent interiors and capacious space makes it an ideal for family gathering or party. All tables were adorned with steel thali and small bowls.After settling down on table, an antique vessel came to us for washing our hands,it felt like I am transported to some mughal era . Then there was fascinating view of queue of servers waiting to fill our thali, it really looked like a royal fare.
We started our session by quenching our thirst with khus cooler,green color drink came in silver glass. In salad Aloo Channa Salad,who can say no to such salad. In Starters Gajar Masla Dhokla and Palak Patta Chaat. I could eat that palak patta chaat all day long.
Moving on to the main dishes Malai Corn Paneer, Baigan Bharta,Aloo Rajwadi and Masla chawal. My favorite from these was baigan bharta. We got to try different dal like Lehsun Dal and Gujrati Khatti Mithi Dal. I had repeated rounds of Lehsun Dal but unfortunately other dal couldnt impress me,assorted breads were served to accompany daal and curries like Phulka and Masala Puri.In rice Gujrati Wadi Pulao and Khichdhi filled up more.
In dessert Shahi Badam Halwa,Anjeer Phirni and Gulabi Malpua With Radbi satisfied our sweet cravings at the end. At Rajdhani they offer different set Thali menu each day,interesting isn’t it?
At the end I asked them for tea and I came to know that they don’t serve it but they entertained us by going out of the way and made us special tea exclusively for us. Service here is vigilant,they come again and again to fill up your thali. It is one of the places where you can enjoy variety in an affordable price.
