I have been to many Lebanese restaurants and after getting the invite from Zahr El Rouman I was thinking what different it would be. I happened to be there when it was extreme windy in Dubai. Weather was playing its romantic part and winds were rushing everything from its place. Zahr El Rouman is one of the places with a scenic view of Burj Khalifa. Boasting both indoor and outdoor decent sitting but as I said due to weather couldn’t think of sitting outside. They have two floors one smoking and other non-smoking.Also offers shisha for customer with numerous flavors at economical price of AED 50-65.
We were there on Friday at brunch time. The theme of the brunch was seafood in an affordable price of 79 and 99 including seesha. We hadn’t gone through the practice of selection and ordering as they have a set menu for brunch. At first we were served their three sort of drinks came out in cute mason jars, mint lemonade, ginger lemonade and mango one. Yes!!! mango lemonade was new for me,mango was mixed well without empowering the taste of lemons and mint.Do try it!!
Moving on to the starters we were served hummus, batata hara, fresh olives, betroot salad, fatoush, fried calamari,Tabouleh and one curry based starter came alone with fresh out of the oven bread. While waiting for the main we nibbled each dish. Batata Hara as usual conforting, hummus was creamy as it should be and romain lettuce salad with crunch of pits pieces made it my favorite among the other options on the table.
After 15 mins a huge platter of seafood arrived on our table decked with variety of fish.I couldn’t remember the names exactly. The platter had small chips like fish, finger fish and a huge size fish.Finger fish was lip smacking with sauce and the big one soft and cooked well. Relished the whole platter except small chips like fish,it had raw smell which I cannot bear.
Courteous Mr. Hessam helped us in selecting dessert. We were served fresh cut fruits, halawi cheesecake, date cake and crepe. Halawai cheesecake an arabic twist with creamcheese. Layered beautifully in a airlock jar and tasted luscious whereas, date cake was on a dry side to my liking but nutella crepe sweeped out all the praise from us.Don’t forget to try this out here when you visit them.
Overall,my experience was decent, due to set menu of brunch I couldn’t explore much about the food this place offers, but will make sure to drop by some other time to try the rest of the menu.I would conclude my post if you are in hunt of good economical seafood try out their brunch on Fridays.
