One of the most indelible experience for me dining at Tomo last weekend. I am not just talking about the quality and refinement of the food served, but the glistening ambiance and impeccable service that adds to a memorable (and probably the best) dining experience you’ll ever have.
Tomo restaurant is a Japanese restaurant located in Raffles Dubai .It is one of the place which you can surely add in the list of restaurant with a view. We preferred to sit outside to enjoy the amazing view although it was cold but still we didn’t want to miss this chance as being in Dubai such weather remains not for long.
This place boast posh indoor and outdoor sitting area,sushi live counter and two private rooms,suitable for private parties and meetings.Dim lights and contemporary vibes arise your romantic side.At terrace you can choose from Japanese lower sitting style or normal table for your culinary experience.
Its an authentic Japanese restaurant,from chef to the most of the staff are from Japan. So expect to tantalized your taste-buds with authentic fare of food.Menu gives you so much choices and it took me a while to decide what to order but it wasn’t easy without my server ‘s help.

My husband and I started our culinary journey with soup, which unfortunately wasn’t impressed my palates so, I moved to the starters and let me tell you,I fell in love with each and every starter. Everything was fresh and taste was superb, I could fill myself up only with starters but stopped to keep some space for the rest of the dishes. Japanese crabstick salad was fresh and taste was superb,tempura platters had assorted pieces of veg and seafood and I relished each variety. Makimono had three variety of sushi and california rolls were my favorite among all the varieties. Chicken Gyoza were soft and flavorful.
In main dishes, Wagyu Houbayaki a beef dish that came on a live small clay stove. I think it would have been better if I asked my beef meduim done. Halal Ramen had noodles,seaweeds,garlic and japanese pickle in a soup. Chicken Curry couldn’t tempt me that much but Egg Fried Rice was aromatic and I enjoyed it without any curry.
In Dessert we had matcha cake with fresh fruits cut and scoope of icecream. If you don’t know about matcha cake,its green in color and has a subtle taste of green tea. At the end I washed down everything with a cup of milk latte.Amazing view with warm cup of latte made my weekend complete.
Overall, I spent great time at Tomo Restaurant with appetizing food and breathtaking skyline view. Service was top notch and I would definitely recommend this place for your authentic Japanese food fix.
