As the name suggest this place has all the flavors of north India. Inspired by the home style cooking of roadside eateries along plains of northern india, serving authentic cuisine where spices and herbs are blended together to give a rich culinary experience.
I visited their barsha outlet few days back, this place boast spacious place with comfortable sitting arrangement and warm lights, hanging chandelier makes you all cosy. We were greeted warmly by the staff but to my surprise the restaurant was all empty but after some time the house got some guest infront of us and amazingly they all were foreigners. We sat at one of the table and started our culinary journey by ordering some mouthwatering dishes. Let me tell you they have everything, what you can think of in north indian cuisine. It took me a while to select dishes from so many options.Meanwhile our server served us assorted chatni and papads to munch on.
What we tried there?
- Blue Lagoon and Virgin Mojito
- Palak Patta Chaat
- Specialty Kababs Platter
- Dal Tadka
- Dal Makhni
- Dum Pukht Chicken Birynai
- Nawabi Gosht
- Dessert Sampler
Blue lagoon and Virgin Mojito both were refreshing but virgin mojito was bit sweet to my liking and it could have been better if the taste of lemon juice and sugar were in balance.
Palak Patta Chaat was new item for me although I am a huge fan of chaats and anything related to it but having palak in it was unique for my palate, but let me tell you it was crazy, the crunch added due to fried coated palak was soOoo delicious. I definitely like to try it again.
Specialty Kababs Platter– The serve brought us platter filled with different kababs for our tasting. So, in short it was party time for carnivores like us. Every kabab was charcoaled to perfection but my favorite ones were Malai Kaba, Banjara Kabab, Gosht Chatpatta and in veg options Shahi Mushroom and Makool Kabab were amazing.
How can anyone miss to order biryani? Yes,no one ever. So, from choices of biryani I opted for Dum Pukht Chicken Biryani. It came in clay pot covered with veil of flour. Ok!!!! unfortunately biryani couldn’t impress me, I found the khewra over powering and it enslaved the real taste of biryani.
Nawabi Gosht– It was curry dish, had boneless meat pieces in satin smooth curry, that went well with the basket of roties that was offered to us with the main course. From the basket of roti the garlic naan was my favorite among the other options.
Dal Tadka and Dal Makhni- How come not to order dal being at indian or pakistani restaurant. Both the dals were amazing, dal makhni was creamy and smooth in consistency whereas, dal tadka was bit spicy and had a kick of tadka. I enjoyed both of them with garlic naans.
Now come to the most sweet part that is dessert, rather than ordering one or two dessert I went for dessert sampler,in it they bring collection of their best desserts to your table via this plater,it had gulab jaman, rasmalai, kheer and kulfi.
I was bit skeptical after reading reviews of this branch on zomato but my experience is total opposite. Staff was courteous and attentive, well informed about the menu and guided us properly. Do check out this place for your desi fix and let me know your comments. Until next time bye!!!
