Al Nokhada another appetizing option where you can have hearty meal to tantalized your tastebuds. It offers Arabic and Indian cuisine, serves cold and hot mezzeh, fresh fish, and grilled and baked seafood using aromatic spices. Each dish is deliciously served with traditional Arabic/Indian appetizers, salads and freshly baked Arabic bread.
The restaurant greets you with decent earthy tone decor with basic arrangement and the musician unfurling the live music through his arabic instrument. There was a special table for us waiting to serves us and make our night memorable.
I was there with other bloggers at dinner time. Having a set menu we our evening started with Mocktail of the day.
What else we had there:
Starters:
- Hot mezze
- Cold mezze
In hot mezze we got sambosa of 3 different kinds meat, cheese and veggie filled with kafta kababs mede out of ground meat. In cold variety we got to try hummus, fattoush and tabbouleh. All were fresh and perfect start of our dinner. While waiting for the mains I gorged myself with these starters happily. Lachha onions, papads with mint chutney, mango pickle and mango chutney were also there to accompany the mains.
Main Course:
- Arabic Mix Grill
- Dal Makhni
- Kadai Paneer
- Murgh Handi Lazeez
- Veg Handi
- Breads( Naan/Tandoori Roti)
I got excited as the Mix Grill appeared and approached to our table. We were served a platter which had baby veal,Taouk,Kafta and Kabab served along with fries and garlic sauce. Each piece were soft and juicy the way it should be and cooked to perfection. Hands down to it but for me garlic sauce didn’t have that punch of garlic as it should have.
Daal Makhni creamy whole black lentil,it was smooth and creamy in taste and I totally relish this luscious daal with spoon.
Kadai Paneer is a mouthwatering combination of paneer, capsicum, tomato, onion and traditional Indian spices. Simple yet flavorsome.
Murgh Handi Lazeez-being non veg, chicken and meat always delights me, so without saying murgh handi was alluring me to try. Bite-sized chicken pieces cooked with cream, stock, yogurt, onion paste and lemon juice etc, was amazing in taste and with fresh breads like naans it was a complete meal.
Veg Handi another vegetarian dish added on our table spread but unfortunately the taste couldn’t impress me as it was sweet in taste.
Desserts:
The most exciting part of any tasting session is desserts. Being a sweet tooth nothing is more fascinating than trying different desserts. Over there our set menu had warm gulab jaman with vanilla icecream, umali and pistachio aswor. The platter showcasing the combination of indian and arabic flavors. Gulab jaman was too sweet to my liking, even with icecream I could feel the sugar rush where as umali and aswor both had decent sweetness and taste.
My recommendations from the night:
- Dal Makhni
- Mix Grill
- Murgh Handi Lazeez
- Umali and Aswor (in desserts)
Overall, it was a good experience. Al Nokhada where you will get fusion of arabic and indian taste with relaxed family environment.
