A new buzzing laid back cafe located in the new extension of Millennium Airport Hotel in Garhoud. It is brought to you by the same team behind the famous IKEA breakfast, Abela & Co.Bean There Bistro serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with an internationally-inspired menu comprising sandwiches, salads, pastas, small plates, hot & cold beverages and desserts.
Simple wooden work with wall to wall wooden shelves, awaits to be a part of your experience here in this chic restaurant. Other side of the cafe features green’Living Wall’ with self irrigation system, this wall adds serene feel to this upscale place. Outside sitting area will be a perfect spot in the pleasant weather which is gonna come up soon.Another amazing aspect is that the wooden bar counter here is made up of one piece of wood and imported from Indonesia. Illustrations and wooden shelf exude a very casual feel to the one side of the restaurant and at the same time hanging lusty lamps and copper birds change the mood from casual to the uber vibes.
The staff here is courteous and was wearing interesting combo of snickers. The chef Mr. Rouque was there to guide us and made sure that everything goes smoothly through out the session.
We started off by ordering drinks fresh pineapple juice and Strawberry Delight. Strawberry delight being new was refreshing and served in a mocktail glass.
Sampling various small plates as starters including one of the restaurant’s signature items, beef bacon covered dates, stuffed dates with roasted almonds and blue cheese, wrapped in bacon. One needs to have an acquired taste of blue cheese for liking it as am not so,it couldn’t impress me.
Other was Succulent bite size Crab Cakes were excellent as an starter. Crispy exterior and pillow soft from inside. Potato Wedges were also there on our table to load up carbs in us.
A healthy platter in the form of Marinated Beet and Goat Cheese with some other wholesome ingredients like grapefruit, oranges, pistachios and inhouse salad dressing we tried, a good option for calorie conscious peeps.
From sandwiches we got to try Grilled Chicken and Philadelphia Steak . Grilled chicken-marinated pieces of chicken with spiced mayonnaise and slices of avocado makes it a complete power packed treat served in ciabatta bread where as Philadelphia another healthy fare but with a twist of luscious calories in the form of Philadelphia cheese.
We were more than half full at this point but we yet to try the mains, that shows serving size of sandwich is quite filling. In mains we opted for Crispy Half Chicken and Travellers Chicken.
Crispy Half Chicken mild spiced soft and tender chicken came along with rustic ratatouille and creamy mashed potatoes, chicken had an empowering taste of fresh rosemary but if you remove the skin, you won’t taste it that much so I preferred to have it by removing the skin.
Travellers Chicken– For me it was a fusion version of murgh channay (chicken with chickpeas) infused with mild spiced curry topped with light slaw mix. The paratha that came along with this was crispy and delectable. I could eat it on its own. Highly recommended dish.
For satiating our sweet craving at the end of our meal we thought to try Red Velvet Cake but the friendly chef suggests us to try out their infamous shooters too which that they serve in cute shots glasses.Unlike the classic taste of red velvet still it was tasteful. The flavors of shooters were Penna Cotta,Rice Pudding and Chocolate Mousse. Penna Cotta was the highlight among the rest.
Very instagrammable place and laid back atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for casual meetups or business meeting where as straight forward menu with international inspired flavors would definitely impress your tastebuds.
