Spice Kraft is no short of heaven for vegetarians, their menu reflects the diversity of vegetarian dining options from India, steeped in the classics – tandoor, paneer, vegetables, and chaat – while offering deft touches of modern food kraft.
Located in JLT They’re just steps away from the Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) Metro Station. From the JLT side, walk towards the Almas Tower and pass the lake from behind it,will easily located them.
Being a non-veg was it a fun ride? or how would I see this place from the non-veg tummy’s(instead of eyes) perspective?
Well the place has basic interior with fairy lights at the front to grab the attention of passers by. LED was mounted on the wall to entertain you while waiting for the food.My server was courteous and well informed with the menu.Their outdoor sitting with a lake view is an added point.
Our session kicked off with cripsy papad,no Indian food is complete without munching on these delectable snacks. They were served along with chatni,I ate them all in no time.
They have a good variety in their menu and being a non-veg it was a bit baffling to order but our server helped us in selection
From their breakfast menu I ordered Aloo Paratha, although it was dinner time still they went out of the way and served me soft and well stuffed paratha with raita. I wanted to eat all of it but didn’t in order to keep some space for the rest session.
Moving on to the next dish which was phel puri,OMG!!! it was amazing and for a chaat lover like me it was nothing but a treat.
Then we got barbecue platter to entice our palates with their grilled to perfection taste. The platter had sample of assorted grilled items like Paneer Lasooni Tikka, Tandoori Paneer Tikka,Bharwa Aloo Firdousi and Malai Paneer Tikka. Every items was well marinated and cooked, seriously I relish every item like any other veg lover.
In curries we tried Punjabi Dahi Kari,Makhani Daal and Junglee Palak ka Kofta.
Punjabi Dahi Kari, a tangy yogurt based curry with soft besan pakoras which I relished every bit of it with steamed rice. It was just like homemade and palate acquainted taste.
Makhni Daal, creamy and thick slow cooked black lentil with tomato gravy tempered with spices and cream. Despite being creamy you won’t feel bloated after it due to its slow cooked process.
Junglee Palak Ka Kofta, interesting name with health benefits. Spinash is famous for its health benefits and having it in the form of curry is easy to intake specially for Asians like us. For me it was new as I had never tried palak with kofta before but it was a good addition to my veg list.
Last items we tried as main course was Triple Delight Szechuan Rice,it was a melody of hakka noddles, fried rice, crispy noodles and spicy veg gravy in a single layered dish, truly a delightful dish with spot on taste.
Now comes the most interesting part of any tasting session that is Dessert. We got to try Gulab Jaman and Gulakand khoya Shooter. Gulab Jaman my all time favorite came drenched in sweet syrup and felt like a pillow in our mouth where as gulkand was new for my tastebuds still I enjoyed it.
Yes, even being a non-veg I it fun ride with delightful tasting experience. I would recommend this place to try it out as there are no profusion of places with quality, taste and too easy on pocket. So its a good deal for desi food fix and let me tell you they have much more to offer what I mentioned above, for further details go and try them out.
