I was invited for Asha’s Birthday celebrations at Wafi Pyramids. Where I got to try innovative menu celebrates authentic indian flavors and spices, while providing a modern twist on recipes by using the best fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
Culinary experience started with refreshing drink ROSE GEM ICED TEA, served chilled in a traditional copper glass. Made up of gulkand and decorated with pistachio but it couldn’t impress me that much as I was expecting before trying it.
In food we started with Bhatti Ka Chaap, soft and juicy pieces of chicken, well marinated and cooked with perfection in tandoor. I totally relish this starter.
Other starter was Kofta Kham Khatai a veg delicacy made up of a fried bottle gourd and potato hash patties, pan tossed with tamarind chutney, ginger and fennel. Another delectable starter of the day.
Jheenga Jalpari jewel of the sea. Deep fried king prawns, stuffed with cheese and praw chunks, coated with bread crumbs and served with sundried tomato chutney. All the starter were great in taste and filling.
In mains we tried Dhaniya Murg-chicken cooked in a yogurt and cashew nut gravy with fresh coriander.Hare Baingan ka Bharta-oven roasted & mashed eggplants tempered with mustard seeds, onions, garlic, green chillies and fresh coriander in clarified butter.Muscat Gosht– boneless tender lamb cooked with clarified butter in a spicy rich onion and tomato gravy. This dish is a special recipe and inspired from a dhaba in Oman. Chamandi Biryani a special recipe who can win anyone’s heart with ease.Prawns cooked in a coconut cilantro pesto with lemon juice and coconut milk, layered on ghee rice and finished with dum. Special spices and blend of culinary expertise make this biryani Last but not the least Makhni Daal-creamy and rich full of flavors was no less than a delight for our palates. I could eat bowl and bowl of it.
In dessert we got trio of delights in one platter, gulab jaman, gajar ka halwa and kulfi with falooda. Among all three only gulab jaman made me happy which was served with a layer of rabri truly delectable.
Overall, Yes I would recommend this place for having authentic indian cuisine with a twist of modern flair. Biryani is highly recommended it won’t disappoint you rather surprise you with its unparalleled taste.
