Do you enjoy cooking? or like to try recipes from different part of the world? then look no further I have got a great deal for you. Being a blogger I was invited to attend Arabic cooking class at the Al-Maeda Restaurant nestled in Double Tree Hotel by Hilton.
Al- Maeda restaurant offers flavor of Levant region with a blend of Arabic taste in contemporary style. They have come up with informative cooking classes for adults where you not only learn 3 amazing Arabic dishes but also get a chance to cook under the guidance of Al-Maeda’s Syrian chef Lawrence AL Najjad in interactive atmosphere. Class will be held every Tuesday from 12 to 2 pm in just 199/- AED and after every week, the menu will rotate. The best part is that at the end of each class, you could relish your own cooked food .If you have kids, don’t worry, play area will keep them busy while you revel in you cooking class experience. Not to forget, by paying 50 bucks more you can get the access to the hotel’s beach all day. Isn’t it fascinating?
In our cooking class we got to made 2 main courses as there were vegetarian bloggers too. In starters we made Loubieh Bel Zeit it mean green beans with oil. In this simple dish different veggies like tomatoes, onion and garlic were being used. It can be served cold or hot and accompanied well with bread or rice.
In main course our first dish was Vegetable Kawage as name suggests its totally a vegetarian dish, where we used tomatoes, eggplants, potatoes, cauliflower, baby marrow and onions. Despite being a non-veg person myself I savored it equally. The other one was Kousha Mahshi, the way it was made quite unfamiliar yet exciting for me.To my surprise the end result was totally unexpected and the way its final version came out on the table. You really need to go and experience all by yourself what I am trying to explain.
The last dish was dessert. Level of excitement went high when we got to know we were going to make Kunafa and who doesn’t like kunafa? I didn’t know that Akawi cheese is used in it with ricotta. Akawi being very salty in nature, needs to desalt before using it by soaking in cold water for like good 6 hours or overnight. Each step of making this dessert was a treat to eyes.
At the end of this fun filled session we relished our cooking efforts with chit chat and happy faces.
I would surely recommend to all my followers to grab this amazing opportunity with your friends or family and add some new and authentic taste to your table menu.
Thank you doindubai for organizing such fun filled event, thoroughly enjoyed it.Never stop trying and learning new things in life. Until next time ma’a salama!!!
