Being a Chinese lover,getting an opportunity to try one of the most hyped restaurant in Dubai who has opened its door a year back in 2015 and making waves in masses with fresh concept and big & bold on flavors. Prax’s is mainly a takeaway restaurant, serves delicious dim sums, noodles, spring rolls, mains, and much more in attractive Chinese oyster pails (takeout containers), for customers to enjoy a tasty meal on the go.
I got a chance to visit tecom branch which is relatively spacious then the other one in jumeriah. Its a small eatery with modern concept where you have the choice of customization,you can make your own dish with the available ingredients on the menu. It is soOoo amazing,isn’t it? you can have your meal with your own unique combo or If you don’t want hassle to even think, just rely on the pre-set menu and you are good to go.
The branch manager greeted me and my husband with a big smile and after setting on our table, handed us menu with cute paper to tick off the ingredients if we like to order free style menu.This concept was new for me and found it interesting. I took sometime to read all the available options and virtually blogging in my mind.I decide to try one dish from each style.What I ordered
- Chicken Siu Mai
- Spring Rolls (Veg and Peeking duck)
Chicken Sui Mai skinless boneless chicken, trimmed, patted dry, and coarsely ground steamed dimsum was treat to my palate.Soft and served hot, I ate it alone without dunking in dip came along. No doubt its a hot seller here.
Spring Rolls you can have it in 3 flavors duck,vegetarian and prawns. I opted to try duck and veg options both were flavorsome and rolls on a good note were not at all oily.
- Sweet & Sour Prawns
- Black Pepper Chicken
From pre-set menu we ordered Sweet and Sour Prawns,this dish was a melody of spring onions,mixed peppers,pineapple,carrots,red onions,roasted cashew and fried rice.All ingredients were fresh and mingled in harmony of exquisite taste.
Black Pepper Chicken had green peppers,broccoli cabbage,bok choy,spring onions and egg noodles.Chicken pieces were tender and veggies were crispy the way I like,never like overdone version of vegetables in Chinese.
From free-style menu I chose egg fried rice as a base,in protein chicken was my option. I paired it up with sweet and sour sauce topped it off with cheery tomato,mushroom,mixed peppers and corn. I liked to garnish my creation with roasted peanuts full loaded combo and was excited to taste my unique combo which I made with full zest.After trying my dish I felt overdoing with ingredients missed the main element of fried rice taste. So try to go easy while selecting toppings.
Other free- style dish which was my husband creation was egg noddles as a base,chicken as protein,red curry sauce topped with corns. You wouldn’t believe his simple selection tasted outstanding, I was interested more in gobbling from his oyster pails (takeaway box).

They have only 2 choices for sweettooth in the menu but both were remarkably rich and delish in taste you won’t find any reason to crave for other options for you sweet cravings.Coconut and ginger was a eccentric combo for me before trying but the quirky taste of coconut with a hint of ginger won my heart instantly,balance sweetness with rich in every bite. Date and Caramel was creamy in each layer,makes you longing to eat non stop till the last full spoon.
Definetly worth trying place,will not only make your tummy congenial but easy on pocket too. Go and try it out.
