Gourmet Burger Kitchen

It all started back in 2001,three kiwi guys setup this Gourmet Burger Kitchen in UK. After gaining so much popularity in different countries,its now catering Dubai. GBK is not only burger purveyor,they offer healthy items too,so If you don’t want to indulge yourself in calories and looking for some salubrious option GBK has got you covered.They are famous for their handcrafted burgers,using A grade beef with freshest ingredients and sauces made from scratch.

I got an invite for a bloggers tasting session and nothing is more delightful than good food with good company. I was excited to try this UK famed chain. Here they have three outlets one in Marina Mall and others are in MCC and DIFC. We were invited to the  Marina Mall branch.

The outlook of this burger joint is not conventional,its more like an open to the mall but it won’t undermine privacy.The rustic and vintage interiors makes it more fascinating and compels to indulge in enthralling world of gourmet burgers.The service is quiet disappointing here even though staff is courteous and well informed. Our server helped us in selecting the best of their menu.

I reached a bit late at the venue and the salads and starters were already spread on our table. There was 3 salads

• GBK Salad
• Goat Cheese Salad
• Halloumi and Strawberry Salad

GBK Salad: It was a union of green leaves,cucumber,tomatoes,red onions with GBK dressing. I liked this simple salad.

Goast Cheese Salad: It had grilled goat cheese, mixed lettuce, tomato, honey, thyme, pine nuts etc. If you are a cheese person you will definitely like the addition of cheese with veggies.

Halloumi and Strawberry Salad: The twist in this salad was strawberry and balsamic dressing,it tasted sweet and despite of being colorful it didn’t impress my palate.

We also tried, Golden Fried Shrimps and GBK platter,in platter there was some Hot Wings, homemade Onion Rings,Halloumi Bites.

Golden Fried Shrimps: Crispy bites of shrimps with smoked chili mayo

In GBK platter,among all the variety I really liked onion rings,although they were bit oily but was perfect in taste,halloumi bites were grilled to my liking, unfortunately even being a big fan of wings I couldn’t enjoy due to to smell of raw chicken I felt in first bite.

In drinks I ordered peanut butter milk shake,it was thick and creamy like a double scope of glee.

In main course we had options of variety of burgers,I opted for bunless burger. They are served with choice of 2 sides. You can choose from homeslaw,green salads,grilled corn,grilled veggie and blue cheese slaw.I ordered grilled meat bunless burger with the choice of homelsaw and chunky fries.Since,I was getting late I preferred to takeaway my order.On my way back I finished it.The meat was perfectly cooked and the layer of cheese was adding the extra notch to the taste.

Fries were ordered separately and shared with each other on the table.

Overall, it was a successful discovery with good taste and quality ingredients. I would just like to advice to work on the serving time,so the customer doesn’t have to wait long for experiencing good food. Do try it out, its a good place not only for burger lovers but also who are looking for healthy options.
