If you are in search of buffet near the heart of Bur-Dubai,than promenade is an option to consider.It is one of the restaurants in four point Sheraton. I got a chance to try their Iftar buffet with my fellow bloggers.I was very much overwhelmed by the cute gesture of customized platter for each blogger,the platter had nuts and filled dates on the bed of streaked cream.I couldn’t resist and took picture of it from every angle.
Promenade is at the lobby level and easily accessible from the main entrance of the hotel.Simple decor with prominent chandeliers,this bijou place offers buffet with the variety,enough to make your tummy satisfied.
I started off with the soup,Jordanian and lentils soup were the options .I really liked the texture of Jordanian soup but I missed croutons,which I always like to add in my soup.
In drinks, traditional Rooh Afza, Jallab and Laban were on display but rather, I preferred to order frizzy drink anad ended up with sprite. Not a good choice I know,when hearty options of drinks were available in the buffet ;).
Salad bar was enticing with assorted options to accompany main course. Tabouleh,Fried Vegetable with Tahini,Three Bean Salad and Chicken Tikka were some of the names. Being a salad fan, I always relish fresh salads with the available option of sauces and dips.
Bread counter was pleasingly decorated with different style and flavors of bread. They seemed so fresh that it wouldn’t be justified,not to try a slice. I buttered up to get a better sense of the freshness.
In main course the buffet had Chicken Makhlouba,Fish Curry,Steamed Rice and Daal,Aloo Gobi,Okra Stew,Roasted Potatoes,Mutton Seekh Kabab and Beef Stew. Being a non-veg I pounced on seekh kabab which I enjoyed with green mint yogurt. Other than that I tried aloo gobi and beef stew but Okra stew couldn’t impress my palate.Chicken makhlouba with veggies and boiled egg was another good item.
The live station of chole enlivened the atmosphere,chef was preparing it in street food style and garnished it with onions,cucumbers,tomatoes and served with kulcha wedges.
In desserts Um Ali, Rice Kheer Pudding, Basboussa Orange, Luqaimat, Vanilla Pastry, Katayef Nuts, Baked Cheese Cake, Mahabalia Pistachio, Kunafa Cheese, Jalebi, Chocolate Mousse were in decent quantity to satisfy your sweet cravings.I concluded my dinner on creamy chocolate mousse and decadent kunafa.
