With all the glitz and glamour Fairmont The Palm having an Iftar tent by the name Sababa Open Sky Tent by Mezzah House, partnered with Zuhour Group at the mezzanine floor of the hotel featuring all the traditional and international cuisine with the spirit of Ramadan. My latest Iftar preview invite took me to this plethora Iftar preview at sababa lounge.
Sababa lounge offering its guest an indelible experience of fine dinning Iftar under the luminescence of stars, ebullient atmosphere enriched with live stations and Arabic performances,Egyptian & Turkish Tanoura dances and for the football fans they will be showing UEFA Euro 2016 matches each day, closing the deal with sheesa for sheesha lovers.Whereas, if you like to be cosy with some privacy than their indoor high-ceilinged,capacious ballroom arrangement is certainly for you.
You can expect the distinguished Fairmont hospitality and warmth with all the arrangements have been done. Every table was served by vigilant servers, making sure guests are served well,we kicked start our evening with fresh orange juice.Small bites of starters like salmon , cheese and cherry tomatoes and salad bites were served throughout.
The buffet is not too extensive, but provides good options.
After trying both their lentil soup and thick creamy mushroomsoup, we went to the Salad Counter. The salad counter had a wide range of salads, pickles, marinated feta cheese, labneh ball and cold mezze like hummus, moutabel, tabbouleh, fattoush, stuffed vine leaves etc. Everything was fresh and tasty.
On one side of the buffet you will find variety of dates and dry fruits to relish on.The buffet of main course is not too extensive, but provides good options and tasted superb. The Lamb Ouzi was the highlight loaded with pine nuts and cashew nuts. The other dishes were Vermicelli rice, Fish Sayadieh with Rice, Okra with Lamb, Warak Enab Kousa, Arabic Mixed Grill perfectly grilled item and not to forget lip smacking white sauce Lasagna, one of the best I have had in a long time. The cold shrimps were served in an adorable ice made shell accompanied with the tingy flavor sauce. Not only the presentation but the taste was equally good and fresh.
The live station in the courtyard were beaming and making the atmosphere warm with the saporous food. I wanted to try all but ended with tasting some of the them. Live stations featuring traditional Luqaimat ,koshari, soups, juices and tamarind drink, turkish icecream, assorted kunafah, live counters for fatayer al tayer,sajj-e-hara,shawarma,falafels,pastries and much more.
You can end your Iftar with a cup of traditional Arabic coffee or tea.
