Icons Coffee Couture has recently opened its door in the capital of UAE and second populous city ABUDHABI in DEERFIELD MALL. I was invited to the launch of this exquisite coffee couture cafe.
The owner is a German national who was pursuing her career in modeling back home. She reveled to us how she came up with the idea of this cafe. Being a model it was never easy for her to enjoy every sort of food.To maintain figure, models usually deprived from the joy of sweet for obvious reasons.
After coming here in UAE,she introduced a natural herb which is a natural alternative of sucrose,thus, you can enjoy your food and sweet without being guilty.
This herb is called STEVIA. This sweet herb has an extraordinary sweetness power 300 times higher than white sugar. This sweetener is 100% natural and can be used for cooking… A small pinch of it is as powerful as a sugar spoon sucrose.
Exclusive menu was given on each table. Started off with the Aperitif (a small drink of alcoholic liquor taken to stimulate the appetite before a meal in our case it was totally alcohol free) Mango Sorbet Smoothie,it was thick and delightful in taste, felt like having a mango puree. Norlander Toasties(veg) and Mediterranean wrap as starter were served. I really liked the Mediterranean wrap it was simple and stuffed with veg and mozzarella cheese,simply fulling.
I also got the chance to taste Froz Teas, Hot Chocolate and Acai Froyo with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
As a main course with a sweet twist, Hot Chocolate Cake with Caramel Pecan Ice cream was served and believe me it was the show stopper,moist cake with a scope of ice cream was like a match made in heaven and the best part, I was devouring it like a baby ,all natural sweetener, it was made up of,for ice cream they use dates for sweeten it up but you wont be able to guess while eating, isn’t it amazing ???
At last I was privileged to see the world’s most expensive coffee PANAMA GEISHA. The whole process of live coffee making was like a chemistry experiment where you are experiencing distillation and saturation process,nevertheless, it was incredible and made me a happy person at the end.
I would say, for sure ICONS is one of its kinds cafe where you can enjoy from savory,sweet,ice creams to coffee without being guilty,no matter if you are health conscious or not their best and healthy ingredients make you to visit this place again and again.
