Jeffrey Tussing, Park Ranger
Jeffrey is inspired to learn more every day about beaches, wildlife and native plants.
Jeffrey was born and raised in Ohio. His favorite activities as a child included swimming at the community pool, playing in the woods and riding a bicycle or minibike.
After 8 years of service in the Navy Jeffrey returned to Ohio. It didn’t take long for him to miss coastal living! In January 2020, Jeffrey and his wife moved to Florida and started a mobile dog grooming business.
When he discovered the OPS Park Ranger position at Gamble Rogers State Recreation Area, it felt like he had won the lottery.
"I work with some great people in a state park on the beach! Could it get any better than that? My wife says this job fits me like none other and I agree! I prefer being outdoors and near the ocean. I do something different every day and meet the nicest people. I’m inspired to learn more about our beaches, wildlife and native plants."
