Carly Burgess-Carelli, Park Ranger
Carly loves using her knowledge of the natural world to educate visitors on the unique habitats and wildlife found on the island.
Caladesi Island State Park is a natural escape from the busyness of the mainland. Wildlife can be found all over the island, from gopher tortoises to nesting shorebirds. The beach is peaceful and everchanging, with rolling tides and steady sea breezes.
Carly started with the Florida Park Service in 2022 after obtaining a Bachelor of Biology degree. She loves using her knowledge of the natural world to education visitors on the unique habitats and wildlife found on the island.
When not in the park, Carly enjoys time with her daughter, and taking camping trips in her RV. She is currently working on visiting all 175 State Parks in Florida. Florida has many wonderful and unique places to explore, and I encourage you to get outside and explore The Real Florida!
