Welcome to the St. Teresa Tract of Bald Point State Park

Experience wilderness overlooking Ochlockonee Bay.

As the newest addition to the system of Florida state parks, the St. Teresa tract offers a wilderness with trails winding through wooded habitats and wetlands with amazing views of Ochlockonee Bay from the bluffs. The 7,700-acre parcel is part of Bald Point State Park and is adjacent to Tate’s Hell State Forest, creating a contiguous protected landscape that includes the Apalachicola National Forest, St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge and Ochlockonee River State Park.

A use area has been created at Corn Landing Lake. The entrance drive passes through an area of the St. James tract of Tate’s Hell State Forest. A picnic area, trailhead and paddlecraft launch is located near the parking area. A map of the property and trails is provided in the kiosk at the trailhead. Visitors may hike or bicycle on almost 20 miles of trails. Corn Landing Lake is available for canoeing or kayaking with your own equipment.

The protection of the bluffs marks a conservation milestone that will benefit climate resilience, preserve crucial rivers and lakes, and safeguard the habitat of countless native and migrating species.

• Driving Directions: From U.S. 319/U.S. 98 intersection in Medart, Florida (at the location of Rocky’s and Wakulla High School):

  From U.S. 319 South, take U.S. 98 west 16 miles to 4449 U.S. 98 East in St Teresa. Turn right (north) into St. James tract of Tate’s Hell State Forest. Continue 0.8 miles to park entrance (or 1.5 miles to parking area). The road through the state forest is a dirt road.
