OPS, Jonathan Rich and Mark DiSclafani II
Please welcome our new park staff, OPS Jonathan Rich & Mark DiSclafani II.
Jonathan and Mark are members of our park's Resource Management Team who are ready to do battle against non-native plant species. This includes cutting, pulling and applying herbicide to invasive plants. The goal of the OPS staff member is to treat invasive plants species found within the park. You will also find them helping park staff in completing other resource management goals such as prescribed fire and fire line prep.
Jonathan Rich hails from Michigan and moved to Florida to be closer to family. Mark DiSclafani II is a native Floridian who grew up in Brandon.
Jonathan has always had a love of the outdoors and it's his life's mission to "save the environment". Mark developed his appreciation of the outdoors early in life as a boy scout and grew during his time volunteering at Lovers Key State Park.
Both prefer to be in the natural environments of the Florida State Parks and away from large crowds.
The Florida State Parks mission statement of preserving, protecting, interpreting and restoring natural resources, are top priority for these dedicated staff members.
