Emily is the recipient of the District 4 Employee of the Month Award for March 2024.
Collier-Seminole State Park is proud to announce Park Ranger Emily Simpson as the winner of the Florida Park Service's, District 4 Employee of the Month Award for March 2024. Award selections were determined at the District last spring with a presention at the park level in July. Park staff and volunteers enjoyed a celebration cake and refreshments.
Emily started with the Florida Park Service (FPS) in February of 2023. Her previous experience with the National Park Service and with a wildlife refuge has helped her in exceeding FPS performance standards. In the short time Emily has been with the Florida Park Service, she is quickly mastering the art of interpretation, presenting wildlife programs and creating attractive and interesting content for the park kiosks. Emily has also completed the National Association for Interpretation's "Certified Interpretive Guide" training.
Being geared for success, Emily is always eager to learn new skills in park maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical and especially the operation of heavy equipment.
Emily has earned the respect and admiration of both park management and her co-workers. Her dependability, work ethic, Ranger First attitude and willingness to help co-workers and the public make her an excellent choice for this Employee of the Month Award.
