Ways to Enjoy the Cooler Weather

While the rest of the states are getting cozy, Floridians know it’s time to go outside.

November has a lot of official holidays recognizing the outdoors, and what better time than when the weather is finally cooling off!

Consider visiting some of these parks to get a chance to see the gentle giants we know as manatees. November is Manatee Awareness Month, and we encourage you to learn more about them to help protect these majestic mammals.

November is also a great time to enjoy paddlesports in Florida. There are plenty of ways to have fun on the water in Florida but there’s no way to get more up-close (without getting wet) than in a paddle craft. Find a park to paddle near you!

The week before Thanksgiving might be busy with menu planning or traveling, but if you find yourself with some time, celebrate National Take a Hike Day or National Camping Day. Did you know that Florida has over 3,000 miles of hiking trails to explore? Find one near you, or find a park that offers both camping and hiking.

If you go on one of those hiking trails, be on the lookout for the Florida wildflowers that bloom this time of year and add that extra touch of color that makes fall so special.

And when Thanksgiving finally comes, we hope Florida’s natural beauty is one of the things you find yourself feeling grateful for.

See you in the parks,
